Differences in application and design.
The selection of the drive or drive system is absolutely crucial for every single stair lift, as the drive determines how the stair lift moves. Different requirements—for example, indoor and outdoor use or winding staircases—require different stair lifts and, consequently, different drives.
Curved Lifts
When space requires navigating corners, such as with spiral staircases, a curved lift is utilized. The lift rail follows every curve of the stairs, allowing multiple floors to be navigated without difficulty. This rail system requires custom manufacturing to account for every specific angle. For curved lifts, we developed the TY or TW drive solutions.
Straight Lifts
Unlike curved lifts, stair lifts for straight stairs (also called straight stair lifts) can be manufactured using standardized processes—only the rail length is adjusted to the respective length of the stairs. Our TW products are ideally suited for straight stair lifts and can be configured according to each customer's specific requirements.
TW Worm Gearbox
The TW series belongs to the right-angle gearboxes and is based on a single-stage worm gear with a DC motor (brushed or brushless) and a holding brake.
