Innovative solutions for limited space
Limited space requires innovative solutions. A platform lift in a private home (home lift) or a hybrid between an elevator and a stair lift (LULA - Limited Use/Limited Application) are solutions that enable barrier-free movement within the home. Tornado is proud that its drive technology is used in these lifts worldwide. These elevators comply with EN 81-1, covering platform or cabin lifts with a maximum speed of 2 feet per second (0,15 m/s). Our drives are also compatible with elevators according to ASME A17.1/CSA B44 for the USA and Canada.
These systems utilize an electric drive with frequency control. The implementation can vary significantly—whether it's a screw drive, a belt system, or a direct drive—depending entirely on the spatial constraints and the customer's specific requirements.
For passenger lifts, Tornado offers special drive solutions of TW series (worm gear) or TD series (standard worm gear)
